Meet LaSaundra

LaSaundra Gordon, MA, LCPC is a Christian therapist who has nearly 20 years of experience in the counseling field working with people from all backgrounds and faiths.

“I believe that the therapy space is about the client and their needs. As a Christian and a Black woman, I understand the intersection and the importance of spirituality and race and how it is a part of the very fabric of one’s life. Though I am a Christian and work with individuals in an integrative process, I do not only work with people of the Christian faith; it is just an added bonus for those who are Christian and/or share similar backgrounds.

My style is very conversational and relaxed as I welcome you into a loving, judgment free zone. I’m known for connecting with clients through my “real talk” and look forward to supporting you with care through your healing process, all while seeking to empower, inspire, and challenge you to do your work. My personality and expertise allow for the perfect balance of safety and honest conversations for those who are seeking their turning point.”

Check out her podcast entitled, Lounge Lift Learn, to be enlightened as they examine significant implications that effect mental health through the lens of Black therapists.

Outside of the therapy office, LaSaundra has worked as a guest instructor at Wheaton College, provides clinical supervision for graduate students and newly licensed therapists as well as presented for Illinois Counseling Association (ICA), Illinois College Counseling Association (ICCA), and MASEA, among others. Throughout her career, LaSaundra has run multiple psycho-educational support groups focused on women’s empowerment, anxiety, and grief and loss.
