An open mind and the desire and commitment for positive change.
How many people can a retreat accommodate?
We can accommodate 6 people. We've learned that the ideal group size for personalized attention is 6-8. In a space of trust, we create an intimate setting where participants have enough time to share and connect. This allows the biggest transformations to happen.
What kinds of meals? Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We offer organic, whole food meals, some of which we source from our certified organic farm.We can accommodate most diets, such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, just let us know ahead of time.
Do you serve Alcohol? Caffeine?
We do serve organic caffeinated coffee, tea, as well as herbal tea. We do not serve alcohol.
What's a typical day look like?
For the 3 day:
-Mindfulness exercise, journaling and discussion
-One day with horses doing powerful life coaching exercises
-Afternoon activity (could be an herbal workshop, a hike, a swim in the river, pick some organic vegetables, a yoga class, create a vision board)
* We will spend one day doing amazing life coaching exercises with horses. (No riding, and no experience with horses is required. You can even be afraid of horses—we can work with that too.)
Is there cell phone coverage and wifi?
Yes, though we encourage you to unplug as much as possible.
Do you have a smoking policy?
Smoking is not allowed. If you must smoke, you can walk down the road.
Do you allow children? Pets?
We are not set up for children as these are retreats for adults. Though we love pets, we cannot accommodate them at our lodging.
How do I get there?
By air, you would land at the Burlington International Airport (airport code BTV).
Trains and buses are available to Burlington and Montpelier. Cabs or Uber transport can bring you to our lodging.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
That's up to you. It's not always possible to plan for emergencies.
Why do you require an intake questionnaire?
Just like with life coaching where not everyone is coachable, the same can be said for a transformational retreat. Everyone needs to be ready to make the changes that they seek. If one person isn't ready, or has issues beyond the scope of the retreat, it can hold everyone back. We do our best to bring people together that can support each other's growth process. That doesn't mean that you will automatically like everyone in the group, but you will grow and learn faster.
Is the information I share private and confidential?
Yes. Trust is very important to us and not sharing other people's personal information is a ground rule to participating in our retreats.
Do you offer scholarships anymore?
I was spending too much time writing grants and looking for funding, however, I just added a donation button to generate some scholarship money. Also, if you are a Vermont resident, you can apply for a VSAC Non-degree grant to attend our retreats. Go here for more information. Finally, I offer a $25 referral fee for each person that attends a retreat. Know someone who would love this opportunity? Send them my way and you'll earn $25 for the referral once they attend.
Do you offer gift certificates if I want to buy one so that a friend can attend?
Absolutely. Do you have a friend that you believe would benefit tremendously from our retreats, but they don't have the budget for it? Let us know.
What are your Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policies?
We commit to providing the most extraordinary retreat experience. That said, early departures, no shows, and cancellations place a burden on the retreats program. There will be no rate adjustments or refunds for late arrivals, early departures, or no shows. We strive to offer you the best overall experience; therefore, it is necessary for us to have these policies.
For retreats full payment is due upon registration. All cancellations are subject to a $20.00 cancellation fee. Refunds (less the $20.00 fee) on cancellations coming within 21 days of the reservation date are made only if the room is re-rented. Certain things are paid for ahead of the retreats for our guests and cannot be refunded.
If minimum guest occupancy for a retreat is not reached 7 days prior to scheduled retreat date, Your Turning Point Retreats holds sole discretion to cancel or reschedule retreats based on minimum guest occupancy. *Registered guests will have the option of a full refund or credit for a future retreat.
All retreat cancellations MUST be sent via email. This process is to protect both the consumer as well as Your Turning Point Retreats, in relation to our cancellation policy. Emails are necessary to provide time sensitive information as well as a way to track your cancellation. Cancellation emails should be sent to: email@example.com
